Portland High School Health Services
Student Health Center

The Portland High Student Health Center is a medical clinic that has been establishes as a partnerhip between the Portland Publci Health Division, Portland Public Schools and Maine Mediacal Center to provide more accessible health care to Portland teens. The goal is to keep students healthy and in school. The Center is not intended to replace the services of a student's regular doctor or health care provider, but will work in tandem with them to better coordnte your child's care.

Eligibility

Any PHS student with a completed and parent-signed enrollment form on file may use the services of the clinic.

Services

A few of the services offered at the clinic are listed below. Students are seen first by the school nurse and referred on to the clinic as appropriate.

  • Treatment of cute illness or minor injury
  • Managment of chronic health conditions
  • Testing and treatment of sexully transmitted disease
  • Birht Control Services
  • Physical Exams
  • Immunizations

Cost

Annual enrollment is $15.00. This entitles the student to unlimited use of the center for that school year. This fee covers the cost of serices provided on-site. The cost of services provided outside the clinic such as prescriptions, lab work, or diagnostic tests are not inclded in this fee. Medicaid is the only insurance billed at this time.
